Governing Magazine
Her son and daughter-in law, who both work full-time, were concerned about her declining health, but felt they had no choice but to place their mother, Delores Powers, into a long term environment with constant supervision and medical assistance. However, due to recent changes in Tennessee's elderly care policy, Delores was able to return to living at home with her family. The state of Tennessee now provides a day-time caregiver.
In the three months since her return home, Delores is more active. Her caregiver helps her walk around the property and do moderate exercises. She is able to enjoy more time with her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
